In 2018, I had the opportunity of singing in my first ever solo concert held in a gorgeous church in the centre of Reading in the UK.
Singing in this Concert was such a magical experience for me and one that I will remember for the rest of my life. My family helped to organize the event and my brother introduced me on the night (thus the enthusastic and flowery intro). Many people came filling the church and the night ended with a standing ovation. It truly is a very special memory.
I love everything about concerts from the dresses to creating an experience for a captivated audience. I have been blessed to have sang at a few other solo concerts since, but I would love the opportunity to sing at more in the future.
If you are reading this and would like to hire me to sing for a Concert please contact me (details on Contact and CD's page).
Before I started busking, I never dreamed I would be able to make most of my yearly income from performing on the street. Yet here I am five years later a professional busker!
The experience over the past five years has been life changing and so exciting! I have sang in many different cities and towns. I've meet so many different people and sold over a thousand CDs!
The opportunities that have come through busking have been immense; I have been asked to sing at Weddings, perform in Concerts, Award Ceremonies, at Christmas light switch ons, at a Countesses garden party, Retirement homes, Funerals and the list goes on...
I feel so blessed and privileged to be able to sing for so many people. I have met and made so many friends in the different cities and towns that I visit. I also have had many moving encounters with people on the street, some of which I am sure I will remember for the rest of my life.
No matter where my voice takes me in the future, busking will always hold a special place in my heart, as will the people who have supported me along the way.
"We had the pleasure of having Charis sing at our wedding and she did an incredible job. Her voice was angelic and she captured every song at our wedding perfectly. Our guests commented on her beautiful tone and how well she carried each song" - Katie and Chris Edwards, Wed Feb 2020
I am a romantic at heart and I love weddings and greatly enjoy being able to be a part of someones most special day. I have sang at many weddings over the years, first starting with family and friends and then later in a professional capacity.
I have sang in wedding services and at receptions. One of my most memorable moments was singing 'From this moment on' by Shaina Twain to a couple as they walked down the aisle; it was so lovely for me being able to see their faces as they met one another - I was blessed with having the best view in the whole ceremony!

A few years ago I was asked to sing at the "Yes Awards"which celebrated the achievements of young people with special educational needs and disabilities and the professionals who worked with them.
The Yes Awards was a very moving event for me; having struggled with dyslexia and dyspraxia my whole life it was lovely to see young people be awarded and praised for the things they have achieved in spite of having a disability.
I sang two songs "Somewhere over the rainbow" and "Don't stop believing" both songs with messages of hope. I was very proud of all who won awards and it was so encouraging watch.
I am very honored to be able to sing in retirement homes. I find it very touching to sing to older people who have experienced a lot of life and are so ready to be entertained. I have a lot of respect for the older generations. A lot of the songs that I sing are well suited to an older audience. I love to sing songs from musicals, jazz and war songs along with the odd hymn.
I have always felt that when I get old and can no longer travel to the theatre; that I would love to be entertained by professional performers, and so because of this I perform for retirement homes at reduced rates. If you would like to inquire about my set list or costings please get in touch. I would love to sing in your retirement home!
Singing at different events and parties is great fun, whether that be performing at a stroke club's 21st birthday party or a garden party or even a towns Christmas light switch on!
I find performing very exciting and I love to have variety of events and places where I sing during the year. If you would like for me to sing at your special occasion or at an event, please do get in touch!
